Ashwin Mantravadi
Founder & Visionary
Ashwin Mantravadi is a dedicated student leader and STEM educator based in San Diego, California, who has dedicated his academic career to pioneering youth-led educational initiatives. As the lead founder of AXEIS, he spearheads the delivery of mobile STEM Carts and robotics workshops to ensure underserved communities have access to advanced engineering concepts. His commitment to mentorship is further evidenced by his role as Head Coach for an elementary Science Olympiad team, which he guided to a first-place finish in the 2025–2026 season. Ashwin’s deep passion for scientific research is underscored by his distinction as a two-time first-place regional science fair winner and a 4th-place finisher at the state science fair. Beyond competitive accolades, he explores the frontiers of synthetic biology as a member of the Del Norte High School iGEM 2026 team, consistently working to bridge the gap between complex science and public understanding.
The Founder's Journey
I founded AXEIS in the summer of 2025 and conducted a Science Summer Workshop with a few elementary students. While leading the workshop, I was amazed at how engaged the children were and how quickly they grasped advanced concepts. However, I wanted to expand AXEIS and provide underserved communities with the same opportunities. I co-founded the AXEIS STEM Carts project with five highly committed high school sophomores. Each member brought a personal motivation, and our team was united by the belief that every child deserves access to high-quality STEM opportunities, regardless of their background. Now, we are working to expand AXEIS STEM Carts to many more underserved communities so that even more students can discover the joy of hands-on STEM learning.
Bridging the Real-World STEM Gap
This experience shaped the outlook for AXEIS. Now, we hope to grow AXEIS into a platform for many new initiatives that serve our community. Our vision is to give youth a space to imagine, design, and lead their own projects under the AXEIS umbrella.

Meet the AXEIS STEM Cart Team
Ashwin Mantravadi
Ashwin is passionate about science and research, with a strong interest in tackling real-world problems through experimentation and data analysis. His experiences with Science Olympiad and participation in both the Greater San Diego and California State Science and Engineering Fairs have fueled his love for STEM and motivated him to share that excitement with others.
Aayush Niranjan
Aayush Niranjan is a sophomore at Del Norte High School with a passion for engineering, design, and hands-on problem solving. He has taken multiple engineering courses and worked on projects involving robotics and circuits.
Aaryav Lal
Aaryav Lal is deeply involved within the field of computer science, revolving around creating projects to help students with high school experience. His interest in computer science allows him to look at everything from a technical perspective, assisting shelters and educating students through computers.
Aditya Srivastava
Aditya Srivastava is passionate about computer science, with a strong interest in using code to solve real-world challenges. Inspired by his early interest in video games, he quickly discovered a love for programming, especially in JavaScript.
Dhyan Soni
I am a driven high school student with a deep fascination for the worlds of cybersecurity, robotics, and artificial intelligence systems. My passion lies in investigating intricate environments, ranging from the protection of network infrastructures to the technical programming required for advanced robotics.
Vincent
Vincent is a vital team member who provides expert technical support across all initiatives. He ensures that our digital tools and systems function seamlessly for every student.
